Langtang Region Trekking offers wide range
of adventure from moderate-adventurous to challenging, a beautiful and
fascinating destinations where you will be surrounded by high mountains
of Central Himalaya.
Langtang Region situated north of Kathmandu. The area extends from 32
km north of Kathmandu (aeronautical mile) to Nepal and Tibet (China)
border at Kyirong and Rasuwagadi.
Located within Langtang National Park extends to Ganesh Himal area in the west and Helambu area and Jugal Himal towards east.
A perfect holiday from few days of trekking to week or more of 2
weeks, Langtang at present third most popular trekking and adventure
destination after Annapurna and Everest.
Langtang covers wide range of spectacular landscapes from rolling
green hills, beautiful valley to high snowcapped mountains with
enchanting forest of rhododendron-pines-oaks-spruce-hemlock and fir with
magnolia tree lines. This lovely forest makes good habitats for rare
Red Panda, snow leopard and other wildlife and various species of exotic
birds.
Most of the trek and adventure starts from Syabrubesi village and
Dhunche town (headquarter of Rasuwa district) leading to Langtang valley
at Kyanjin Gompa with incredible views of
Ghengu-Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m
/ 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum (6,918m /
22,699ft) to the south, where Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks
including Naya-Kanga / Ganja-la peak 5,846m and Gangchempo with Tilman’s
beautiful Fluted Peak.
Beyond it continues to Jugal Himal, ending with Dorje Lakpa (6,980m /
22,929ft), extends further east on upper meadows where Langtang range
ends in a huge and massive mountain wall, forming the border with Tibet.
Around Langtang region everlasting panorama and views of high
staggering mountains from Mt. Manaslu 8,163 meters, Ganesh Himal also
known as Yangra at 7,422 meters in Tibetan with distant views of
Annapurna Himalayan range can be seen in western direction.
In spring and summer flowering times where rhododendron and other
wild flowers will be bloom of riots of colors turning the country into
magical and natural garden in the backdrop of high snow capped peaks.
